Cook Time 30 minutes
Total Time 2 hours

Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 9×5 Baking Dish
  • 1/4 Measuring Cup
  • 1 Measuring Cup

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet dry active yeast
  • pinch of Salt
  • 5 cups flour
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

  • Add the sugar and water to a mixing bowl (make sure the water is lukewarm). Then add the packet of the yeast. Mix together and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • After the 5 minutes are up, the yeast should look foamy and cloudy. If it does not look like this then the water may have been too cold or too hot. Next, slowly begin adding in the 5 cups of flour.
  • Once all the flour is added and mixed together, the dough should form and be slightly sticky. Cover the dough in the bowl and let it sit for 30 minutes. Make sure the dough is in dry, dark location.
  • After the 30 minutes is up, transfer the dough to a 9×5 baking dish. Let the dough sit in the dish for an additional 30 minutes. While letting the dough rest, preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Bake the dough for 30 minutes.
  • In a microwave safe bowl, melt the butter and honey. Mix well.
  • Immediately after the bread is out of the oven, brush the top of the bread with the butter and honey mixture.
  • Enjoy!
